Walking up the grand front entrance of this magnificent imposing building we were greeted with friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff. The room 'The Grand Tour' had stunning views over the Itallienite garden. The suite had a large comfortable bed, 3 piece suite and large bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - we needed a fridge to store our medication in and within minutes one had been brought up to the room. The restaurant staff greeted us with a smile and friendly conversation, the spa treatments were sublime we went back for more. It is a family hotel and it was lovely to see all the special extras available for those travelling with families. The grounds and complimentary entrance to Ickworth House and gardens provided us with lots to do.

Very much a family hotel - glorious NT building - soaring ceilings, ornate plasterwork and a splendid staircase - fabulous modern art - loved the ambience and charming staff. Grown up drawing room and another where small people can play The grounds are a delight and the opportunities to be "do something outside" are well catered for. As a child free visitor opted for a later dinner - which was very good and breakfast too did not disappoint. I arrived to learn room had been upgraded - thank you and it did not disappoint - top floor - lovely outlook - bright light and spacious - very comfortable -spacious bathroom - made me smile - who can resist a comfy chair on which to sit and dry their toes - very country house but with all the necessities of modern life.

The hotel is situated on National Trust Estate. The grounds are large and well maintained with plenty of different walks to enjoy. The hotel is family friendly. The food is excellent with options for every dietry needs. I was lucky to be upgraded for my visit. I had a wonderful massage and would recommend to others.

The hotel and it's surroundings are gorgeous. The room we were in was beautiful with lots of gorgeous furniture and the bed was comfortable as well as being beautiful. The staff couldn't have been nicer or friendlier. I have food allergies and everyone was so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and everyone seemed to be really happy at their work. We had a lovely swim and a good rest. Exactly what we needed.

The look of the building is magnificent - staying in such a historic building nailed it on me booking this hotel. Fantastic location for my day and inside the layout is great - also the decor is mainly a lot of modern art and the sight possesses a chandelier which is only one of two in the world - the other, I was told, was on display in the Tate Modern.

We had a fabulous mid-week break at the Ickworth Hotel with our 2yo. We’ve not stayed in one of the Luxury Family Hotels before and it was a brilliant experience. The facilities available for babies/toddlers/children are outstanding. From child beds with barriers to potties, baby plates/cutlery to free milk and cookies before bed (to name a few), the service was absolutely faultless. The pool was a real favourite - lovely, warm and very clean. We intended to only stay for one night, but we had to add on an extra night, because we weren’t ready to leave. Big thanks to the team!

Beautiful concept for families, beautiful setting and property at main hotel. Great fun with pool and fun for kids and lovely walks. Food was yummy.

The property is gorgeous and perfectly situated to explore the attached National Trust property and nearby Bury St Edmunds. The hotel is extremely family friendly.

The staff are fantastic from the receptionists to the dining room staff - nothing is too much trouble. We stayed with our 2 year old and we had lovely, tasty meals, a fabulous dinner and breakfast and both grown ups and children were catered for. Staying in such beautiful historic buildings, with gorgeous gardens and walks on your door step, amazing playgrounds for children and a swimming pool, plus dogs allowed too, it was an idyllic family stay. The nursery, which allows you to have a few moments of peace, was great too. Five stars, I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a family.
